I live. I ride. I am. JEEP!

So I come home from work yesterday and grab the mail. I see an envelope from Jeep and immediate think about what could possibly be in this letter. Is it a recall? (Toyota has been having a bunch, is Jeep next?) Is it something about having my Jeep for a year? (I got it last March on the 2nd or 3rd)

I walk into the house and can't open it right away because I have to take the two dogs out (they've been inside since 9 a.m. and it would just be cruel). So I get back inside and what do I find in this envelope? Probably the best piece of direct mail marketing I've seen.

Inside of the envelope is two things; a letter from Jeep saying thank you for owning a Jeep, and a bumper sticker with the new "I live. I ride. I am. JEEP." slogan on it.

Well this is the greatest direct mail piece i've ever seen for several reasons. 1) As a "jeeper" there is a sense of unity among the people who truly feel that slogan is the way a person who drives a Jeep should be. 2) It will show those who drive Wranglers that the "Jeeper" person doesn't always have a CJ, XJ, or TJ, my MK works just fine. and 3) It's FREE advertising for Jeep and their new slogan from the people that are always going to be happy to add another to the Jeep family!

My fiance looked at me like I was the biggest dork in the world, but for those of you who are members of the Jeep family you understand. That whole "Its a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" is very true. Unless you have Jeep blood running through your veins, its just another SUV.

I love my Jeep Patriot and after the winter we've had in DC this year, I'm thankful to have it. The people in my apartment complex looked at it in the snow and just from those four letter knew that I wouldn't have a problem getting in or out (NOTE: I only have the 2WD version because I didn't figure I would need 4WD in DC). The Jeep name is that strong and says to anyone who sees it, "I OWN THE ROAD, WHETHER IT'S PAVED OR NOT!"

Until next time...this has been my two cents.

  1. as a fellow Jeeper I completely understand, I hope we get a Jeep sticker too! And as a fellow dog owner I also understand having to let them out before opening the mail!!
